Facebook to eliminate the sponsored search ads

The social media giant, Facebook has decided to trim down the sponsored search ads for the time being, as it is not generating the required revenue needed to continue this feature. The company has disclosed in a public announcement to streamline the advertisement options. It is said that the feedback company has been receiving from the marketers over the last few years has influenced this move.

These changes will be implemented from July onwards and advertisers will not be able to get sponsored results. For this purpose, it is recommended to use mobile app install ads or the page post link ads until this issue get sorted out. You can consider it as an alternative to the sponsored results.

The sponsored search results were introduced before the Graph Search. Facebook is working for its new Graph Search offer. The advertisers still have the leniency to buy search products with ads available on search pages. In April this year, the social networking site has started analyzing ads on Graph Search result pages but it doesn’t focus on user queries. The whole idea for the creation of this unit has failed. The company is not able to figure out the best way to monetize the search process, as it was done by Google.

The decision has created disturbance among advertisers as they are not happy with this verdict. This may turn to be ill-fated for them as this was a great source for generating revenues for their business. It offered them high click through rate at lower cost based on per click.
